Our family loves this – it’s a “go to” simple, nutritious option that everyone enjoys. Over rice, pasta or in a high-protein wrap with a bit of tsatsiki, tahini, Greek yogurt or all three! We use extra-lean ground, but any ground works – just drain off the extra fat. We’ve used ground lamb as well, for a different flavor and texture.

This was SO easy and my family absolutely went CRAZY over it! They’ve been begging me to make it ever since! I think I may make a triple batch next time and freeze the rest (if it lasts that long!). Hungry teenager approved :)
I used a pre-cooked lemon/garlic rice that I found at Walmart to go with it.
Almost every Downshiftology recipe I’ve ever made has turned out to be a family favorite, and now they think I’m an amazing cook!

Thi was amazing! A few variations. Used turkey burger. Added sliced mushrooms and sliced green olives. Didn’t have green onions so I used sliced shallots. Used chopped kale because we didn’t have spinach. And then I used paleo valley everything seasoning along with some sea salt. This is definitely a keeper recipe! Thank you.
